Naper Dental Sleep Center was opened due to the passion that Dr. Planer and her team had for treating this all to common disease. The effects of this disease on adults and children are very serious and with proper diagnosis and treatment, this is a very treatable disease. Our patients, young and old can have a dramatic increase in quality of life.
Dr. Angela Planer Venegoni

Dr. Planer graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. After completing her training, she was employed by the University of Iowa College of Dentistry Special Care Department. She then moved to Chicago where she has practiced since 2000. Her clinical interests include treatment of Sleep Disorder Breathing, Pediatric Sleep Apnea, Temporomandibular Dysfunction, Orthopedic Orthodontia, and Aesthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Planer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Illinois Sleep Society, Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, International Association of Orthodontics, North American Association of Facial Orthotropics and the American Dental Association. She is currently working towards achieving her Fellow from the International Association of Orthodontics. Dr. Planer served as a director on the board of the Illinois Sleep Society from April 2012-2014.
Dr. Planer became interested in taking an active role in screening and treating her patients in these multifactorial disciplines after attending several seminars focusing on airway and orthopedic developmental. Due to the complexity of proper diagnosis, Dr. Planer works in conjunction with a team that includes a sleep specialist, orofacial myofunctional therapist, an ENT, an oral surgeon, a chiropractor, massage therapist, and a physical therapist to ensure that her patients receive optimal care.
